As much as no one seems to have notified the weather, apparently with March comes the start of Spring time. As much as I have moaned,
and moaned and moaned, about how much I hate Winter, I’ve definitely got used to being cosy and comfy in coats, boots and thick warm tights. Which means as much as I am looking forward to Spring, and of course Summer, I’m not sure I’m ready to leave all that behind.
Of course, there are some things this Winter I have become more attached to than others, and that despite the weather (eventually) warming up, that I probably won’t be letting go of any time soon….
The Cosy Sweatshirt
Slogan jumpers/tshirts aren’t usually my thing. I struggle to find one with a slogan that I find actually fits something I would say, or think. And that I don’t find to be a little tacky. However, when I came across Rad.co/uk I fully fell for this jumper. This is exactly all i want most days, and its super warm and cosy as well! There’s quite a few others from their range that I have been eyeing up too, so this Spring/Summer I might be rocking a slogan tee or two!
You can read my full review of this product here, but I couldn’t do a Winter favorites post and not mention this. If you’ve read this blog before you will probably have seen me moaning about how dry my skin gets, especially in the cold weather and Oatifix is a pure Godsend. A few days ago my skin was so dry, that it actually hurt. So I slathered this on my face, and 15 minutes later, it was actually soft. Not just, not dry anymore. But actually soft!
Soap & Glory’s ‘The Righteous Butter’
Again, this is something I absolutely NEED in Winter, to combat the dry skin. One of my favourite things about this cream is how quickly it sinks into the skin, meaning you can quickly and easily apply multiple layers of it, which I definitely need. And you’re still ready to get on with your day instead of waiting around for it to soak in!
Botanics All Bright Purifying Face Scrub £1.99
Is it just me that finds exfoliating all that yucky dry skin off your face, SUUUUPER satisfying? But of course, I don’t want ALL the skin scrubbed off my face and to make it all sore. And this exfoliator gives a perfect balance. It’s tough enough to get rid of any dead shedding skin, but also keeps your skin really bright and fresh, and definitely not sore. In fact, it pretty much just does what it says on the tin… or tube?
Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation £9.99
Winter brings me to such a foundation dilemma. Part of me just wants to leave my poor wind-battered dry skin alone. The other part of me feels the need to wear about twenty layers of foundation to cover up the red, patchy dryness.
Happily, this foundation gives me the best of both worlds. The 3-in-1 formula means I don’t need to bother layering up with primer and concealer as well, but at the same time, it feels incredibly light for how great the coverage is. It’s also the only foundation I have found that doesn’t go cakey or flakey in the patches where my skin is the worst as well. And it certainly doesn’t dry it out!
Kiko Luscious Cream Lipstick – 507 Peach Rose
Sadly, when I looked on their website it seems that this range has been discontinued, but every lipstick I use from Kiko are all super moistursing, so I’m sure I won’t have too much trouble replacing this one.
I never want to go too bright with my lip colour in Winter, so this peachy pink gives just enough colour to brighten up a dull day, but I don’t feel like it’s too over the top for everyday.
So what are you bringing with you when Winter finally turns into Spring? And have I convinced you that maybe Winter isn’t so bad after all?
